Drogheda Action Group - Write Letters
During the course of our Campaign we encourage you all to write to your local TD's, Councilors and to Professor Brendan Drumm of the HSE and to communicate the importance of locating the new Regional Hospital in Drogheda.
We firmly believe Drogheda is the optimum location for the hospital and throughout our Campaign we have reiterated this -
4 REASONS 4 DROGHEDA 4 THE REGIONAL HOSPITAL
- Expertise: The town has been the location of a major acute hospital serving Louth, Meath and North Dublin through Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for over 60 years.
- Access: The Town of Drogheda is home to some 32,000 people and is 30 minutes drive for over 250,000 people and under a 1 hour drive for over 450,000 people in the region.
- Support Services: The presence of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in the town over many years has resulted in the development of a vital network of support services both medical and non-medical, essential to the smooth operation of a major hospital.
- Social Infrastructure: Drogheda has become a major growth town with great retail and leisure facilities offering a very pleasant environment for people attending, visiting and working in the new regional hospital.

Drogheda is one of the largest and fastest growing towns in Ireland, situated on opposing banks of the river Boyne, the town of Drogheda has long been a trade and cultural centre for the North East Leinster region.
